Artist's Description
"Rainy Days and Sundays" is a poem I wrote:
The rain hits the downspout in a constant chatter.
Occasional drips off the roof hit the cement porch.
A pleasing drone of "white noise" rain splashes lively on the pond.
The sun bleached dry winter landscape takes a deep breath as the rain approaches, then a sigh as the rain fills every crack and crevice with the life force of water.
The rain is coming straight down, with little motion.
The wind chimes on the porch wait silently to announce the backside of the front that brings the wind. All there is now is silence.
The rain muffles even the traffic going by on the street. Even the cars seem gentler as they go slower, the tires softly splashing the puddles on the side of the road.
My porch in the rain is soothing, a place to come to soothe your inner spirit.
Even the landscape is softer. No harsh shadows being cast by the sun. Only one color prevails today, the color of softness.
